The Hart to Heart Story...Beginning Beat...

Founded on September 27, 1996, Hart to Heart Transportation, Inc., began with three employees and one unit providing BLS transport services at a rate of 16 transports per month. Today, under the direction of Jason and Terry Skidmore, we employ over 350 professional staff, maintain 80 road units providing approximately 69,000 transports annually. We are licensed to provide EMS, handicapped/disabled transportation, and wheelchair and sedan services in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as paratransit services throughout New Castle County, Delaware.

Our Management Team

Hart to Heart employs management with various and extensive levels of expertise in all forms of commercial and public transportation. Our senior leadership team boasts over 50 combined years in the transportation industry, ranging from our staple business—commercial ambulance operations—to transportation brokerage, paratransit and sedan services, finance, billing, risk management and dispatch operations. Hart to Heart provides a highly qualified leadership team driven to see high clinical outcomes. Hart to Heart's key to success is experience and stability with a leadership team working together for many years with the same common goal in mind, clinical excellence.

Hart to Heart Transportation employs over 350 professional staff. We believe the heart of our success stems from the dedication and commitment of our professional staff and the enjoyment of working as part of the successful Hart to Heart team. We are proud of our professional staff and reputation, including individuals with extensive experience and certifications, many with 20 to 40 years in the ambulance or transportation industry. Most of our professionals are active members in the volunteer fire companies within their respective communities. We believe this volunteering spirit reflects an enjoyment for their work itself and a dedication to providing the quality service that Hart to Heart is known for.

Jason Skidmore

Jason Skidmore

Owner, Operator, and Founder

A native and life-long resident of Maryland, Jason Skidmore founded Hart to Heart Transportation (formerly Hart to Heart Ambulance Service) with his wife and partner in 1996. The company has grown from one ambulance and three employees to over 80 vehicles on the road and over 350 employees, serving Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with ambulance, wheelchair, paratransit, and fixed bus route services. In addition to Hart to Heart Transportation, Jason also founded a billing company, management company, and Statewide Automotive, a full-service repair and Maryland State inspection facility servicing cars, trucks, paratransit vans, heavy duty trucks, and full size transit busses. An active member of the community, Jason participates with local charitable organizations and has served on various boards for local institutions.

Terry Skidmore

Terry Skidmore

Owner, Operator, and Executive Vice President

Co-owner of Hart to Heart Transportation, Terry Skidmore is focused on the growth and development of the business. A native and life-long resident of Maryland, Terry has been a key part in all aspects of establishing and growing Hart to Heart and related businesses to their present state. In addition to her responsibilities with Hart to Heart and related businesses, Terry is also involved with community and charitable organizations in the local community.

Cory Skidmore

Cory Skidmore

Vice President, Operations & Safety

Cory is responsible for operational management of over 350 personnel and their safety, along with fleet management of over 80 vehicles for Hart to Heart Transportation. A decorated former Maryland State Trooper, Cory is one of three original employees, starting with the company in 1996, and has been an integral part of the business' success. Cory's 15 year experience as both a State Trooper and in the EMT field, has helped ensure Hart to Heart's operational growth, safety, and compliance through the years. He is also a certified EMT-B, and qualified First Aid, CPR and VFIS instructor.

Bill Savidge

Bill Savidge

Vice President, Partnership Building and Client Success

A Pennsylvania native and 20 year resident of Delaware, Bill brings a vast array of managerial skills along with 25 years of experience in the transportation industry up to and including transportation brokerage, call center management, resource planning, contractual business retention and development and public affairs. Bill's primary focus is garnering and expanding all facility and organizational relationships which is made increasingly possible by the outstanding "customer service delivery" initiatives that our senior management, line managers, and field employees provide and promote to Hart to Heart Transportation clients on a daily basis. Our company focus on technological advances also are a primary focus of Bill's attention as Hart to Heart continually strives to be on the cutting edge of field data transmission from a resource planning and an on time performance response perspective. Bill is a 1985 graduate of Temple University, graduating with a BBA degree in Accounting.

Jeff Tucker

Vice President,
Chief Financial Officer

Jeff oversees all accounting, information technology and financial aspects of Hart to Heart Transportation and plays an important role in all key management decisions and strategic planning. He is a lifelong resident and native of Harford County, Maryland and graduate of Harford Community College and the University of Baltimore with a degree in accounting and business. Bringing over 35 combined years in his disciplines primarily in the Transportation industry, his experience encompasses financial, management and technology systems as well as human resources, risk and safety, insurance, and regulatory matters. His accomplishments include launching successful new business ventures and being awarded recognition for accounting excellence for 15 consecutive years. Jeff compiles and prepares the fiscal and technological data that is crucial to insuring Hart to Heart is fiscally sound and able to continue to provide the customer service, patient oriented product we are known for.

Bill Savidge

Scott A. Steinmetz, M.D.

Medical Director

Dr. Steinmetz serves as the Medical Director for the Maryland Division of Hart to Heart. Dr. Steinmetz brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the providers operating under his supervision. A graduate from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Dr. Steinmetz completed his residency in General Surgery in 1995 and has served as the Division Head of General Surgery for Upper Chesapeake Medical Center since 2001.

Philemon Bailey

Philemon Bailey, D.O.

Medical Director

Dr. Bailey serves as the Medical Director for the Delaware Division of Hart to Heart. A Delaware paramedic from 1993 until 2001, Dr. Bailey graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2003 and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine in 2007. He currently works in Lewes, Delaware as an Emergency Physician.

Aaron Sebach

Director of Nursing and Critical Care Services

Aaron is a Maryland Eastern Shore native and currently oversees the critical care nursing program for Region IV and Delaware. With experience in Emergency Medicine and commercial ambulance service, Aaron currently practices as a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Md. He holds a Master's degree in nursing with specialties in education and advanced nursing practice. He also holds Board Certifications in Emergency Nursing and Pediatric Emergency Nursing and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Nursing Practice.

Patrice Thornton, PHR

Patrice Thornton, PHR

Director of Human Resources

As the Director of Organizational Development, Patrice’s primary objective is directing the human resources department. This oversight entails employee relations, recruitment, training, coaching, and policy and procedure development. Patrice has over 15 years of experience in the medical transportation industry. Although primarily focused on human resources, her experience offers a unique combination of oversight of operations, business development and other key areas. This background enables her to be a strategic planner and expert resource on the executive management team. Patrice has an extensive knowledge of employment law and human resource best practices, maintaining PHR certification and active membership of SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management).
